Another note for music
Gozer is somebody have know for a couple of years now and have always like his music, he has a very laid back way of telling stories during his shows, but knows when to get people going to give the place a lift.
His new album running with the outliers came out Nov this year, this one has a slightly different feel to it, not a massive shift from the the normal music but there is a change, and its bridged well as you can hear some of his old style in the album plus a new style in there too.
This launch for me had a different vibe to anything i had attended of Gozers before, i have and idea why but its not something i am willing to go into on here, the night was a success, and yet again showcased some amazing local talent in Gozer, who has been a mainstay of local music for a good few years and personally deserves more credit for what he has done for the music scene here in Devon and Cornwall.
This new album has a mix of a new style to his music, which is enhanced by the band which is the first time he has used a band like this, and it works really well, and it just adds a umphh to his music, and in some songs there is still a hint of his previous work, so there is a good mix for both those that used to his music and those that are new to it.
Running with the Outliers song is the first on the album and this is the one that has a hint of old work but with a hint of new work in it, and i don't know if this was the plan when working out what goes where on the album but having a sniff of old with a whiff of new as the introduction is a really smart way to go, your already thinking this is Gozer Goodspeed.

And the further you go into the album the more the new style comes out, and as i said adding a band has added a different dimension to his music, and gives a great platform going forward, i think it opens up a-lot more options down the line,
Many musicians end up being put into one style of music, but i have never felt thats been the case with Gozer, for me there is a mix of Country, Blues, and folk music, which broadens his fan base, and he never fails to come up come up with some great titles for his music, including Pumas and Neon Signs on this album.
This album is a step up from his previous work, and thats not to say his previous work was bad because thats not the case, but again adding the band is a genius step, its adds a new dimension to his music, and watching two shows with the band his performance is different , he feeds of the extra music and of the boys in the band, and thats all for the better.
All in all this is a great album from Gozer and he deserves to have a much bigger push not just in the Southwest but everywhere and i am sure in time that will come, but in the mean time put this album on your list of things to listen to.
